100_3961, originally uploaded by solo_goat.

dry start, 4 hours later rain and then it turned to clay.

sitting in 3rd, got the chain caught between the spokes and cassette. i ran down to the pit area, lost a ton of time but got it fixed and got back out.

salvaged 4th place and got to drink some cold yazoo brews to top the night off.

brandon rode super strong and took the win, the josh the toastman rolled in second.

long write up tomorrow - time to unpack.

Sounds like a good time. When you say clay vs last years swamp thing mud was the clay packing down and riding well? It looks like that Uvex helmet would do a good job of keeping angry yellow jackets off my head. Does the “mesh” inside the vents cover all of the vents or just the front half? Looks like I need to go poke around the Speed Goat site.

Congratulations on race. It’s always a good day when you can pull it out of the hole and put it back in the top 5.

course was run backwards and only hit the fist "loop" of the figure 8. that side was the worst of all of it, was thick, but not quite as bad as last years.

mesh - yep, seems to help with keeping the critters out so far. overall great setup - like the adjuster in the back as i run caps sometimes (especially at night) and can adjust on the fly.
