Interesting to note that every major player in the endurance game has this same post. It shouldn't have to be this way.

In my mind, 24 Hours of Moab is the new "World's"

THe whole endurance calander is like this this year! It is really bad in California! I wish these guys could pu their heads together!
I agree with Jeff about MOAB!

yep, it's totally screwed up. the only thing i see that really doesn't conflict too much with the 24 hour events is the 100 mile series.

as it is, the only thing that could possibly even make it worse is when the NORBA enduro events come out, if it is still around.

and - even though i am honestly still having nightmares about Moab, i think jeff is right.

Gonna have to go with the Moab statement...

I agree that 24 WSC is falling apart, but how does that now make Moab the world championships? I actually asked Eatough if he was going to Moab instead of WSC a few years ago, and he said something along the lines of "Moab is just Moab, but if you want to be world champion, you have to go to WSC." I think the reality is there is NO world championships until UCI gets involved.

I think everyone agrees that the people make the race, not the promotor...and from the comments on Ernesto's blog and other boards and blogs....seems perhaps the "racers" make the call.

What event do "we" want the worlds to be...so far I'm reading alot of "Moabs!"

Viva revolution!

Go to Moab. The UCI doesn't recognize our discipline. It's up to the riders to decide what the big 24 hour events are, not the organizers. The 2008 WSC didn't live up to it's name as the 24 hour "World Champs".

I raced in my local 24 hour this year and the race was totally different. The event was full of energy. The WSC was dead before it even started. There was no spectator, media or corporate presence at the event or on course. The course was challenging but wasn't much more exciting than riding on a dirt road for a day. I agree with the previous posts race somewhere else.

Next year I'm giving another late season race my money.

Indeed I was appalled at WSC this year. I came over from the UK and did for me a great ride with an 8th - but Sooo small. UK races have over 100 solos and 400 teams.. come hop the pond and see some great racing! Let's face it WSC have chosen to conflict with your nationals...

CHris E may well be coming over for our Bontrager 24 for 2008 - why not join us and UK riders will gladly house those that come

The fact that Stuart has put his "biggest" race in direct conflict with U.S. nationals is disgusting. He has no interest in seeing 24 hour races become UCI sanctioned and although only a dream right now become an Olympic event. He is hurting the very people he needs for income. He should have worked with Nationals and put the WSC much later in the year.

Of all the 24 hour promoters out there he has the most to lose from hurting Nationals. If we don't support the ONLY offical 24 hour race in NORTH AMERICA we are hurting ourselves too!

GO TO NATIONALS and convince every solo rider you know to do the same. If the US national race were ever to go away it would be a giant step back in the 24 hour world.

i've pretty much decided what race to hit up in my mind.

either way, should be interesting to see who goes where.

I don't know man. I will definitely be at 9-mile after all it's like 10 minutes away from me, but I even posted it myself, Moab is the new worlds. WSC shot themselves in the foot.
