whew, been a few hectic weeks as i am getting in some miles and building up and repairing bikes.
few melt downs last week trying to fix and repair bikes. never fails. at some point during a hectic week, my training bikes decide to act up. drives me nutz. now i'm back in business. just remember, 'when in doubt, switch it out." i should remember that more often.
this weekend - long recon mission at the shop and few other spots. should be good to get out on trails and not have to freak out about getting back into town for the joby job.
all parts in on the pivots - and dan the man is taking top secret blog pics as i type away at the shop.
have a good weekend, get in some miles, drink some good brew and coffee.

mud - and lots of it.
pulled out after two and half of laps - 1 1/2 of laps of pure mud hell. offical result - 6th place.
1. jb
2. harlan
3. andy a (offically not an ohio resident, but that's OK)
congrats to all that finished and who completed a lap - it's an epic that will be talked about for years to come.
now - gotta catch up on life. longer write up in the next day or two - until then, chekc out flickr (about 25 pics up)

at the dsg and hoping the rain won't come.
pre-rode today and yesterday - course has new sections which are holding up good, but the existing trails are pretty soaked and holding lots of water from the week worth of rain dumpage.
lets just hope the rain stays away - potential rain coming in tonight.
write up coming sometime sunday - for now, time to rest.

is now complete - somewhat.
few parts to be finalized after i get my wobblenaught fit and we are waiting for a few others to come in. final parts and full coverage of the build ups by dan the man will soon be up on the speedgoat blog after frame #2 arrives in a short bit.
i9's, king ti cage xtr, foxl are just a few of the brands you'll see on the final builds - weight is actually around the same area as the asylums.
thanks for dan the man, jim, don and the whole speedgoat crew for pulling together a great build up for 2009.
now - off to sneak in a long ride before sunday dinner with the family.

last night ride ended at 9:45pm as i snuck in both a long day at work and on the trail.
not mucho to report on these days as the meat of the season is fast approaching, but i am really looking forward to heading out to speedgoat shop to build up and pick up pivot #1, meet up with the guys and then get a good ride up linn run to hit up some of the local 'goat trails that i don't get to see enough of.
local road races are starting soon - hope to hit a few of those up to remind all of those roadies how mountain bike races start.
120% effort at the gun.
with that in mind - i'm out. possibility i may actually get a long ride in without having to use my lights.

somehow managed to snap 2 vintage sram 9.0sl rear derailleurs in the past week or so. nice. managed to to convert the niner to a hard tail to finish out the last hour and a half, making it the first unoffical single speed ride i've been on in about a year or so.
this week - back to normal life for me as i got my bonus for the quarter (racing fundage!) which is good as i need to ramp up the hours next week. i've been doing some double workouts since january, but now i need to get in some pretty hefty doubles to ramp up for the season.
also with the end of the quarter for me means that i can start concentrating on the pivot build ups which will start once i get my forks from the boyz over at FOX SHOX which will continue to sponsor me through the 2009 season.
no race for me today down at mohican - wanted to race, but i think i need an overall mental break, some extra hours on the bike, work on the bikes and a few extra hot cups of 'joe.

not mucho exciting - mostly on the bike paths this weekend as i try to avoid the main roads to stay away from cars and the jerks that are in them.
staying on the path doesn't seem to help avoid the jerks though.
mileage and fitness are on the way up and i think i may even venture out to a cross country race in the glorious state of O-hi-O this weekend. not the norm for me, but will be good to get out on the trails.
with that - gotta roll.

thanks to eric over at cane creek for setting up my red pivots with a set of the blue cane creek 110 headsets which should match up perfect with the blue and red from the I9 wheelsets.
build ups coming soon - in the meantime, counting down the days until the end of the month as i work towards some race fundage (quarterly bonus).
58 degrees in ohio tomorrow - it's going to be a heat wave.
